Hello,

In July we announced improvements to multi-variation listings, including tailoring which photo from the listing is displayed to buyers in search results. We're aware that this is impacting sellers, as it affects generic searches as well as searches by colour.

As a result of this feedback, we've decided to go back to using the main 'shared picture' on the search result page for all generic queries, across all categories. This will take effect from 5 December onwards. We'll still use the colour variation photo for a colour-related search.

All of the other new features introduced in October - such as the ability to add and rename variations and making it easier to add photos - are now in place, as is Multi Variation Merger. This tool helps you combine listings within the Clothes, Shoes & Accessories category to create multi-variation listings, which could help give your items better exposure in search results.

This year's BBC Children in Need Appeal show is Friday 16 November. Many eBay buyers and sellers have supported BBC Children in Need since eBay for Charity launched in 2005, raising over £1.5m for the charity on eBay.co.uk.

If you've not yet used eBay for Charity when you list, it's simple to do:
