***Listing policy clarifications: sales of the new Apple iPad on eBay.co.uk*** |
 |
 |
 |
09 March, 2012 | 10:25AM GMT

Hello,
In preparation for the release of the new Apple iPad, we're putting guidelines in place to help meet buyer demand for this highly anticipated device, while also promoting eBay sellers who deliver excellent customer service.
New Apple iPad Product Pre-Sales
Most sellers will be allowed to list a new Apple iPad during the pre-sale period prior to the launch date of 16 March, as long as they're in full compliance with eBay’s Presale policy. Also:
- Apple authorised resellers will be allowed to list up to 50 items per week.
- eBay Top-rated sellers will be allowed to list up to 4 items per week.
- All sellers meeting minimum performance standards will be allowed to list 1 item per week.
- All sellers are required to have a dispatch time no greater than 5 days from the launch date of 16 March.
- All sellers must upload tracking information upon dispatch.
Note: Sellers not meeting minimum performance standards won't be allowed to list the new Apple iPad during the pre-sale period.
New Apple iPad Product Post-Launch Sales
Once the new Apple iPad is made available to the public, most sellers will be allowed to list a new Apple iPad, with these limitations:
- Apple authorised resellers will be allowed to list an unlimited number of items per week.
- eBay Top-rated sellers will be allowed to list up to 8 items per week.
- Sellers with a history of selling in the Computers & Networking category will be allowed to list up to 8 items per week.
- All sellers meeting minimum performance standards will be allowed to list 4 items per week.
- All sellers are required to have a dispatch time no greater than 5 days.
- All sellers must upload tracking information upon dispatch.
Sellers who are having difficulty meeting performance expectations throughout the pre-sale and post-launch period may see a reduction in the number of items allowed to be sold per week.
eBay prohibits replica or counterfeit items. If a seller cannot verify the authenticity of an item, it can't be listed on eBay. Any selling activity that appears to mislead buyers may result in limitations to selling activity, including account suspension.
Regards,
The eBay Team

***Changes and updates happening on eBay.com from June*** |
 |
 |
 |
02 March, 2012 | 01:13PM GMT

Hello,
If you sell on eBay.com, you might be affected by some of the changes we've just announced in the US, especially if you're an eBay Top-rated seller in the US programme.
eBay.com Top-rated sellers
Starting in June, eBay.com Top-rated sellers who offer 1-day dispatch time and a minimum 14-day return policy with a money-back option will be rewarded with the greatest search exposure and if based in the US, a 20% final value fee discount.
There are also two changes to the criteria for qualifying for the programme:
- You will need to add tracking numbers or delivery confirmation on at least 90% of transactions with US buyers.
- The annual sales requirement to be included in the programme will be lowered from $3,000 to $1,000.
All sellers listing directly on eBay.com
From July, all sellers will be able to add up to 12 free pictures per listing listed directly on eBay.com, including free zoom and enlarge.
There will also be some changes to categories, item specifics and catalogues, which could affect your listings.
Read more about these and other changes taking place on eBay.com.
Regards,
The eBay Team
