***Updated: Canada Post Dispute Resolved***

28 June, 2011 | 12:14PM BST

The labour dispute between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers has come to a end.

Effective tomorrow, mail delivery will resume and we have received estimates of up to 7 days for the system to recover from the backlog that has accumulated since June 15th. We ask that members continue to bear this in mind when communicating with buyers and sellers in this region.

Regards,
The eBay Team

***Original: Canada Post - Disruption to postal deliveries***

16 June, 2011 | 10:03AM BST

We would like to draw members attention to a postal strike within Canada Post (see recent eBay Canada Announcement). If you are sending mail to Canada at this time there may be significant delivery delays to your customers. Deliveries via UPS and other courier companies aren’t affected.

Remember to keep your customers informed by:

1. Amending your listing description to point out that delivery may be delayed due to the postal strike
2. Once an item has been sold, reminding your customers that delivery delays may be expected

Please contact your delivery company (e.g. Royal Mail) for the latest updates.

Regards,
The eBay Team

***Test: Buyers to have access to German and UK listings on eBay.it***

24 June, 2011 | 03:37PM BST

Hello,

Beginning this week (20 June 20110), we’re running a test that will show listings from the UK and Germany to buyers on eBay.it in all categories. Your listings may be shown on eBay.it if you are a top rated seller, have defined Italy as a country you ship to and your listings are being searched for by Italian buyers.

This test will help to increase the visibility of your listings to eBay.it. In addition, you should ensure that you offer delivery to Italy, or worldwide, as one of your postal options. If you don’t want to post to Italy, you should amend your listings to exclude it. Amend your listings now

Depending on the feedback received, we may, in time, expand this feature to other markets.

Regards,
The eBay Team

***Final value fee changes affecting private sellers on eBay.co.uk***

21 June, 2011 | 10:00AM BST

On 21 July 2011, the final value fee for fixed price listings (or Buy It Now) will be changed to a flat rate of 10%, up to a maximum £40. This new flat fee replaces the current tiered structure, making it simpler and easier for you to calculate up-front the fees you’ll pay. As before, you won’t pay any final value fee if your items don’t sell. The new calculations only apply to items listed or scheduled to start on or after the 21 July 2011.

This change affects listings of private sellers in all categories except:

  • Cars, Motorcycles and Vehicles
  • Property
  • Mobile phones with contract

Insertion fees and optional feature fees remain unchanged. Free insertion fees for auction-style listings with a starting price of £0.99 or less will continue to be available.

The fee changes announced today are for private sellers only. Fees for business registered sellers are unchanged.

Regards
The eBay.co.uk team

***Gift Aid: boost the value of your eBay Checkout donations by 25% at no cost to you***

20 June, 2011 | 11:56AM BST

Hello,

Gift Aid

We’re pleased to announce you can now add Gift Aid to your eBay Checkout donations, increasing their value by 25% at no cost to you.

Simply make a Gift Aid declaration , ticking the box to say you’d like to add Gift Aid to your donations. MissionFish, eBay’s partner charity, will then claim Gift Aid on the eBay Checkout donations you have made, and pass it on to your chosen charities.

eBay users have given over £4.5m to UK charities through Give at Checkout. Last year alone, 1.3m of you made donations.

If all eBay users who’ve donated at eBay checkout make a Gift Aid declaration, UK charities would receive more than £1 million.

Thank you for supporting your favourite charities through eBay for Charity.

***Check out only with eBay Checkout***

16 June, 2011 | 11:41AM BST

Hello,

Last year we announced that as of 30 June 2011 eBay Checkout will be the only checkout process for buyers.

We’ve been working with our third party providers to ensure that eBay Checkout has the most important services and features that you need to run your business.

Functionalities such as inventory management, multi-channel listing, etc. won’t be impacted by the discontinuation of third-party checkout.

Offering eBay Checkout exclusively allows us to offer buyers a simpler, more consistent experience over several channels like web and mobile.

***List with a matching product to maintain your sales in Electronics***

06 June, 2011 | 03:25PM BST

We would like to remind sellers that since 17 May 2011, sellers listing in certain Electronics categories must list with a matching product from the eBay catalogue to maintain sales.

We have now started to end non-complient listings and encourage any sellers not yet using the catalogue to review your listings in line with these requirements.

To help sellers to revise existing listings and to select the right catalogue product, we have created a new tool which you can access here.

The eBay Team

***Updated: New My eBay features make shopping and selling on eBay even easier.***

01 June, 2011 | 03:29PM BST

We’d like to make members aware of an upcoming feature on My eBay. We’ll be introducing the ability for members to archive items from the “Purchased” section of their eBay accounts. At this point we don’t have an exact date, but hope to include this later in the summer.

We’d like to take the opportunity to remind members that “Won” items can now be found in the “Purchased” section of your account and that you can customise your default My eBay page by using the “General Settings” option on the top right side of the My eBay page.

***Original: New My eBay features make shopping and selling on eBay even easier.***

24 May, 2011 | 09:51AM BST

Hello,

New features are now available in My eBay and can help you manage your purchase history, payment and postage activity, and watched items more easily. Now you can:

  • See up to 3 years worth of purchases. Whether you need to keep an eye on local and international purchases, identify sellers you want to buy from again, or retrieve information for tax purposes, you can now see  all your purchases on eBay going back three years. To view, click “Purchase History” on the left in My eBay and select the purchase history period.
  • Get improved payment and postage reminders. If you’ve yet to pay for an item you’ve won, you’ll see a reminder that identifies purchases not yet paid for. If you’re selling an item, you’ll be alerted when your buyer’s payment has cleared, so you can go ahead and post their purchase. Both types of reminders show a picture of the item in My eBay.
  • Sort lists by most-recently added. If you like creating lists in My eBay (such as a “Watched Items” list or a “Shoes” list), you now can sort them by most-recently added within “Watch List & Other Lists” in My eBay. It’s the easy way to view and compare your latest finds.

The modules for Unsold, Sold, and Active selling items have been removed from the Summary page. This information is still available under the Selling menu or in Selling Manager.

Regards,
The eBay team
