***eBay Blogs will Close on October 31st 2009***

28 September, 2009 | 10:01AM BST

We would like to let you know that we will be closing down eBay Blogs on October 31st, 2009.

Many members have shared some great information on the blogs, but not enough people have used them to justify the ongoing cost of keeping them going. We have decided, therefore, to shut them down so that we can concentrate our time and effort on the areas of the site that most people prefer to use.

We would like to thank all members who have used the blogs for their great contributions to the eBay Community. If you have created an eBay blog, we encourage you to print out or save your entries before we close this section of the site.

Remember, from October 31, 2009, these pages will no longer be available for you to see or print.

Regards

The eBay Team

***Updated: PayPal payment transactions showing incorrect dates for payment***

21 September, 2009 | 03:57PM BST

Some members may have noticed some PayPal payments showing a payment date in 1969 or 1970. Fortunately, we have found and repaired the problem that originally caused this error and no future payments will show these incorrect dates. ***UK postal strike 14th – 18th September ***

14 September, 2009 | 01:59PM BST

Royal Mail has announced that postal workers intend to go on strike within the following districts from Monday 14th September to Friday 18th September.

Monday 14th September

Cambridge
Slough
Ely
Norwich
Wigan

Tuesday 15th September

Middlesborough

Wednesday 16th September

London

Friday 18th September

Ayr
Kilmarnock
Kilwinning
Irvine

Buyers and sellers using Royal Mail services within these districts should be aware of potential delays in delivery of mail also this dispute includes Royal Mail drivers meaning cross-country mail services will be severely disrupted

Best advice for eBay sellers is to notify customers that there will likely be delays to their purchases arriving. Expect a minimum of two to three days delay for mail in these districts although it may well take until the following week for services to resume to normal

Sellers should check the Royal Mail website for further updates: http://www.royalmail.com/serviceupdate.

The eBay Team

***Changes to the eBay.co.uk user agreement***

09 September, 2009 | 09:48AM BST

On 28th July we shared details of the new faster and easier dispute resolution process on eBay.

Buyers will be able to resolve their problems on eBay through eBay Buyer Protection.  We intend to gradually extend eBay Buyer Protection to more and more buyers over 2009; not all buyers will be able to participate in eBay Buyer Protection straight away.

Under eBay Buyer Protection, eBay will, as always, encourage sellers to resolve any problem that their buyers may have. However, as part of this policy, there may be instances where a seller doesn't resolve a claim and we find in favour of the buyer.  If so, we may remove funds from the seller’s PayPal account to reimburse the buyer for the cost of the item and original postage.  If this payment process fails due to lack of funds or any other reason we may refund the buyer directly for the cost of the item and original postage.  In this case, the seller must reimburse us in full, and in a timely manner, for an amount equivalent to the sum we paid to the buyer.

The new User Agreement is effective immediately for new members registering on or after 8th September, and from 23rd October 2009 for current members. You don’t need to do anything to accept the new User Agreement.  If you don't wish to accept, you can follow these instructions to close your account
