 |
 |
 |
24 September, 2009 | 02:11PM BST

We’d like to share a further update around the changes currently rolling onto the site at this time.
The changes to the Unpaid Items process will now go live on 19th October.
The changes to My Messages will now go live on 26th September.
In addition we’d like to clarify that the Top-rated seller Qualification guide available to sellers will not be updated before the launch of our Updated Seller Dashboard, which will give qualification data in real time. This is due to launch in the next few days, prior to the start of the Top-rated seller program.

Important Changes for Sellers – UK*** |
 |

 |
 |
 22 September, 2009 | 03:26PM BST
We've updated this post correcting some links issues and adding a date for the launch of the improved UPI process.
***
We told you at the end of July that we would be making some important changes for sellers starting the week of 22nd of September. The purpose of this post is to give you an update on when we expect these changes to become available across the site.
Some additional information on the changes:
Discontinuation of features
We previously communicated that listing features would be removed from the site on 30th September; this has now changed to 1st October.
Post-Transaction Emails
Update to post transaction emails, Buyer Successful email will remain as it is today and the Follow-up email has been removed from the buyer communication initiative.
Mandatory Dispatch Time
As part of our changes in June, we advised dispatch time would be mandatory on GTC listings at the end of September, this has now been extended to 3rd November. If you start earlier, you're less likely to encounter delays due to heavy usage of the editing tools.

***UK postal strike 14th – 18th September *** |
 |
 |
 |
14 September, 2009 | 01:59PM BST

Royal Mail has announced that postal workers intend to go on strike within the following districts from Monday 14th September to Friday 18th September.
Monday 14th September
Cambridge
Slough
Ely
Norwich
Wigan
Tuesday 15th September
Middlesborough
Wednesday 16th September
London
Friday 18th September
Ayr
Kilmarnock
Kilwinning
Irvine
Buyers and sellers using Royal Mail services within these districts should be aware of potential delays in delivery of mail also this dispute includes Royal Mail drivers meaning cross-country mail services will be severely disrupted
Best advice for eBay sellers is to notify customers that there will likely be delays to their purchases arriving. Expect a minimum of two to three days delay for mail in these districts although it may well take until the following week for services to resume to normal
Sellers should check the Royal Mail website for further updates:
http://www.royalmail.com/serviceupdate.

***Changes to the eBay.co.uk user agreement*** |
 |
 |
 |
09 September, 2009 | 09:48AM BST

On 28th July we shared details of the new faster and easier dispute resolution process on eBay.
Buyers will be able to resolve their problems on eBay through eBay Buyer Protection. We intend to gradually extend eBay Buyer Protection to more and more buyers over 2009; not all buyers will be able to participate in eBay Buyer Protection straight away.
Under eBay Buyer Protection, eBay will, as always, encourage sellers to resolve any problem that their buyers may have. However, as part of this policy, there may be instances where a seller doesn't resolve a claim and we find in favour of the buyer. If so, we may remove funds from the seller’s PayPal account to reimburse the buyer for the cost of the item and original postage. If this payment process fails due to lack of funds or any other reason we may refund the buyer directly for the cost of the item and original postage. In this case, the seller must reimburse us in full, and in a timely manner, for an amount equivalent to the sum we paid to the buyer.
The new User Agreement is effective immediately for new members registering on or after 8th September, and from 23rd October 2009 for current members. You don’t need to do anything to accept the new User Agreement. If you don't wish to accept, you can follow these instructions to close your account
