We’re pleased to let you know that this week we will be giving sellers the option to add Skype buttons to their listings. For sellers, adding Skype to your listings is a way to help build trust, resolve questions, and seal a deal. For buyers it provides the opportunity to communicate directly with a seller.
What is Skype?
Skype is a simple little programme that lets you chat with friends, family and colleagues anywhere in the world for FREE over the internet. You can find out all about Skype here.
Skype Buttons on Item Pages
The pilot programme will start this week (week beginning 3rd July 2006) and will be trialled in categories including art, antiques, stamps, coins, pottery & glass, sports memorabilia, real estate, baby products, musical instruments, and audio consumer electronics.
We’ve chosen a broad range of categories, which will help us measure the how Skype works best on the eBay marketplace. Adding Skype buttons is totally free and entirely optional.
How to add Skype
When you use the Sell Your Item form, Turbo Lister, Selling Manager Pro to list in one of the eligible categories, you'll be able to choose to add either a Chat or Voice button (or both) to your listings. Buyers just need to click on the buttons, register for Skype (if they haven't already), and then talk or chat. It's fast, it's easy, and it's free.
Sincerely,
The eBay.co.uk and eBay.ie Teams
