We are pleased to announce that we are making a number of category changes during the week beginning 16th January 2006.

The changes are necessary to accommodate the continuing growth of eBay.co.uk and to help buyers and sellers trade more effectively and efficiently. There will be changes made to a number of categories, including expansion of the following:

Antiques & Art
Baby
Books, Comics and Magazines
Coins
Collectables
Computing
Consumer Electronics
Craft
Dolls and Bears
Jewellery & Watches
Mobile & Home Phones
Music
Musical Instruments
PC & Video Gaming
Pottery, Porcelain & Glass
Sports Memorabilia
Tickets & Travel
Toys & Games

More significant changes have been made in the following categories, in addition to expansion, as described below:

Business, Office and Industrial

New Level 2 categories:

- Business Services
- Commercial Property

Clothes, Shoes & Accessories

New Level 2 categories:

- Boys’ Accessories
- Girls’ Accessories

Remove Sizes:
- Girls’ Shoes
- Boys’ Shoes

Home & Garden

New Level 2 categories added:

- Celebrations & Occasions
- Curtains & Blinds
- Home Office/ Study
- Metaphysical & New Age
- Storage
- Bedroom renamed Bedroom Furniture
- Plants/Seeds/Bulbs category expanded

Photography

New Level 2 categories added:

- Digital Camera Batteries
- Digital Camera Chargers

Sporting Goods

Changes to Level 2 categories:

- Ice Hockey added
- Ice Skating added
- Rugby renamed Rugby Union
- Rugby League added as a separate category

By 20th January you will be able to see the new and changed category IDs on the All Categories Page.
