From October last year we ran an advertising campaign on television and radio which was successful in bringing over 1 million new users to eBay, increasing the number of people bidding on the site as well as the number of products listed. It also increased people’s understanding of eBay and their trust in it, meaning they are now more open than ever to buying and selling on the site.
We are delighted to announce that in May 2005 eBay.co.uk will be advertising again, this time with the intention of increasing bidding and listing activity by encouraging people to explore categories that they have not before.
eBay.co.uk will be sponsoring over 40 of your favourite satellite/cable television programmes, highlighting the range of products available on the site, everything from Golf Clubs to Cars. The sponsorship will run continuously from 4th May until the end of June, giving people consistent reminders of what they can buy and sell and the benefits of doing so on eBay.co.uk
We know that the categories featured within last year’s advertising campaign saw strong growth and so we expect the same will happen this year. These categories are: Sport & Fitness, Golf, Fishing, Cars, Bikes, Clothing & Accessories, Home, Garden, Baby, DIY, Technology, Collectibles, Entertainment and Music.
If you sell or have a business in these areas, you might want to prepare for the increase in demand from early May.
