***Feedback Filtering Trial Has Ended***

14 April, 2005 | 11:55AM BST

On 10th January we announced the trial of a new feature that allows members to filter Feedback by type (positive, neutral, negative). You can find the original Announcement here and view details of the feature here: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/safetycentre/fbfilter_trial.html.

Many members of the Community have long asked for a way to only see Feedback of a certain type, such as negative or neutral, and have long debated the addition of such a feature. Many members have said that the ability to filter by different feedback types will help them make better trading decisions. Others feel that seeing feedback within context is important and that viewing only negative comments could unfairly obscure all of the positive comments received during the same time.

The trial was undertaken in order to evaluate this functionality by gathering input from the Community and measuring the effect this has on the entire marketplace. Before and during the trial, we consulted with Community members in research groups, during an Online Workshop, gathered feedback from the boards and received a large number of emails. If you haven’t had your say, it isn’t too late. You can still email us here: feedbackdesign@ebay.com.

In line with the original announcement this trial has been ended after the 90 days and we are currently evaluating the effects of the trial and examining your feedback.

We are extremely grateful to everyone who has taken the time to contribute to this process.

Regards,
The eBay.co.uk Team
