*****PayPal Increases Buyer Protection for International Purchases *****

June 07, 2007 | 06:24PM a SGT

PayPal’s Buyer Protection Programme is designed to protect buyers shopping online.

For even greater peace of mind, on June 7th, we’re enhancing our Buyer Protection Programme to cover a wider range of international transactions than ever before. Maximum protection coverage will be increased - double the previous amounts in some countries (up to USD$2,000 on eBay.com) - for qualifying international items listed and paid for with PayPal. In addition, we’ve added another programme tier for qualifying sellers to offer Buyer Protection on their international listings. Conditions apply.

Coverage amounts will vary based on the site where you purchased your item. To determine eligibility and coverage on your item(s), look for the PayPal logo in the ‘Buy Safely’ section of the item description page.

Learn more about coverage amounts and qualification criteria.

Please note that the PayPal Buyer Protection Programme currently only covers eligible international purchases (sites other than eBay.com.sg) which are paid using PayPal. Other payment methods or items purchased on eBay.com.sg will not be covered under PayPal’s policy. However, for eBay.com.sg purchases, your item may be eligible for protection under eBay’s Standard Purchase Protection Programme (SPPP) with coverage up to a maximum of SG$330, minus a SG$42 processing fee. Find out more about eBay’s Standard Purchase Protection Programme.

Best Regards,
The PayPal Team
