With the introduction of the AdChoice programin 2007, eBay became the first company to place a clear link near an ad, informing you that it could be customized to your interests and providing you with the opportunity to turn off that type of personalization.
We’re now making it easier for you to find the AdChoice links that allows you to set your advertising preferences. In the next few days, advertisements that are part of the program—both on and off eBay—will have both the AdChoice link and the industry-standard icon
Since eBay first introduced AdChoice, many other companies have implemented similar programs. Now many of these companies will be joining us in identifying their interest-based advertising with the same icon, making it easier to manage your privacy preferences on and off eBay.
This is just one more way of making it easier to manage your privacy preferences.
