***End of Life - Dutch Auctions!***

09 April, 2009 | 02:59 PM IST

Dear members,

We will be discontinuing Dutch Auctions (Multi Quantity Auctions) some time this month. Dutch Auctions are a listing format in which sellers offer multiple-quantity items for sale in one Auction-style listing. This format comprises only a small fraction of all Auction-style listings on eBay India often confusing to both buyers and sellers.

This change will impact all Dutch Auctions as follows:

  1. Live Dutch Auctions

No live listings will be cancelled as part of this change. Dutch Auctions that are live when this change is implemented will continue until they end 10 days after the listing date.. You will be able to revise the quantity of a Dutch Listing during the duration of the listing. If you list now with the Dutch Auction format, you’ll have time till around end of April to convert those listings to another format, such as single-item Auction-style or multi-quantity Fixed Price.

  2. Scheduled Dutch Auctions

Dutch Auctions scheduled to be listed after this project is implemented will be cancelled. Auto relist Dutch Auctions will reset to a quantity of one when relisted.

This change will be effective across all selling tools including Turbolister, SM & SM Pro.

Although we will be retiring this one particular auction format, eBay remains committed to Auction-style listings and will continue to support other forms of Auction-style listings going forward.

Regards,
The eBay Team
