Dear members,

This is to inform all our members that we will be retiring the old version of ‘My eBay’ in the first week of February.

We would also like to take this opportunity to answer some of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) by our community members on the new My eBay beta.

How do I put different modules on my Summary page?

The Summary page includes several popular modules, including Watching, Bidding, and Active Selling. If you want to get rid of some of those modules and/or add others, click the Page Options link.

Check the checkboxes in front of those modules you want on your page. Note that some modules include other choices—these are found in the drop-down menus that follow the checkboxes.

Even if you do not sell, you may want to include the Active Selling module somewhere on the page. Then, in the unlikely event that a bad guy takes over your account, you’ll immediately notice that someone has listed items with your account. If you don’t want to see a “you’re not selling anything” notice in the module, simply collapse it. The module will then be very thin, but you’ll still be able to see an item count.

How do I rearrange modules on a page?

You can rearrange modules on the page to place them where you want. Click the Edit menu in an item module (such as Watching, Active Selling, and so on), then choose one of the Move options. Soon, you'll also be able to drag modules to the location of your choice.

How do I collapse modules on a page?

You can collapse a module by clicking the Edit menu. Choose Collapse to squish the vertical height down to nothing but the header/title. To expand it again, click the Edit menu. Where "collapse" was is now an option to "expand."

How do I put 25 items on Summary?

To display up to 25 items in an item module on Summary (in wide view on the right side of the page), click the Page Options link. Then choose the number of items from the drop down list, and click Apply.

How do I show more items in the modules on non-Summary pages?

To display up to 200 items in an item module on pages other than the Summary (such as the Watching page), click the number at the bottom of that module.

How do I show thumbnail pictures of items in a module?

You can customize the item display in an item module by clicking the Edit menu in the upper right corner of the module. Then click Customize. Check the box for pictures. Finally, click Apply.

Some modules show pictures by default. If you want to turn these off, follow the above instructions, but uncheck the pictures checkbox.

How do I add a note?

To add a note to one of your items, click the arrow to access the drop-down menu at the far right of the item display, then click Add Note.

How do I access my favorite searches and favorite sellers?

Pages formerly called Favorite Searches and Favorite Sellers are now called Saved Searches and Saved Sellers. You can access them via the Organize menu on the left side of the My eBay activity pages.

How do I access my favorite categories?

If you have a favorite category you frequently browse, you can save it to your Saved Searches page. Just follow these steps:

  1. Browse to the category of your choice, such as Mobiles & Accessories.
  2. Click Save this Search.
  3. Make any changes in the layer you want, then click Save.

How Can I See Page Counters for Items I'm Selling?

Go to the Active Selling page. There, in the Active Selling container, page views are listed in the column heading with number of watches. Click the icon in the column heading to populate the page views (counter) information. Click it again anytime to refresh the data.

Why must you take this manual step to get the information? Given the average number of active listings at any one time, it would be a significant hit to page load time if all the page view data for every item was loaded each time the page was refreshed.

This feature is currently not available and will be available in a week’s time.

How Can I Get More Information?

Long-time eBay member glenda, who frequents community boards, has put together a helpful user guide. You can find it here:

I’ll update you one more time when we’re about retire the old version. Please continue to provide your valuable suggestions or post your questions/concerns here.

Thanks again for your help and participation.

Regards,
The eBay Team
