***Bid Assistant to be removed!***

19 September, 2008 | 11:49 AM IST

Dear users,

We’re always trying to make our sites simpler and take off features that don’t get much use. That’s why we’re going to retire Bid Assistant – which allowed you to bid on multiple similar items in succession – from eBay.in in the next few weeks.

On 22nd September, we’ll start removing the links to Bid Assistant from item pages and from My eBay, and buyers will no longer be able to create new groups of items. If you’ve used Bid Assistant on eBay.in recently, or plan to use it before 22nd September, here’s how you’ll be affected:

  • If you’ve got an active Bid Assistant group as of September 22: You’ll still see the link to Bid Assistant in My eBay, and will be able to view your groups of items inside it. Bid Assistant will also continue to bid on the items in each group as scheduled. But you won’t be able to add or remove items from a group or change your maximum bids. Your Bid Assistant groups will essentially ‘lock’ on September 22 so if you want to change anything in them, make sure you do it before that day.
  • If you have a closed Bid Assistant group as of September 22: You’ll still be able to view your closed groups via the link in My eBay.

We’ll take Bid Assistant entirely off eBay.in in mid-October.

Regards,
The eBay Team

***Gallery now pre selected in the 'Sell Your Item' form!***

18 September, 2008 | 12:14 PM IST

Dear Sellers,

We are glad to inform you that as part of our ongoing effort to simplify the site, we will be making ‘Gallery’ a pre-selected feature in the ‘Sell your Item’ form.

Sellers will no longer need to select to display the ‘Gallery' Picture by checking the box in the ‘Sell Your Item’ Form. This ensures that if there is a picture added while preparing a listing, the gallery image will automatically appear while browsing categories and search result pages.

‘Gallery’ is a free listing upgrade and pictures make for a good shopping experience for a buyer so we encourage all our sellers to include a picture in their listings for sure.

The eBay Team
