Edurne Jorda

Hi there... I'm Edurne Jorda from the Seller Development Team. I'm here to tell you about a great program for PowerSellers made possible by the eBay Foundation, a charitable fund that serves as the main channel through which eBay contributes to local community organizations.

Some of you may have heard about eBay Foundation's Community Gives campaign in announcements earlier this year asking you to join us in supporting three inspiring causes. But you may not be as familiar with another program eBay Foundation runs called Powerful Giving, which is a special program for PowerSellers. Every year, through the Powerful Giving program, the eBay Foundation donates $5,000 each to charities that are recommended by our PowerSellers.

Last year, PowerSellers pogowray, envirosafetygal, eastgatedistributors, fvmtoolsandmore, foggypaws, wabbit-king, mooseeblack, ntr_bundle, rechan, and smile4u667 all saw the charities they nominated receive grants. This year, the Foundation will choose another 10 charities recommended by PowerSellers! That’s $50,000 in grants the Foundation will make in 2008 to charities that PowerSellers care deeply about. So, submit your favorite charity for consideration because it could be one of the 10 selected this year!

It's really simple to nominate your favorite charity:

  • Fill out the PowerSeller Recommendation form explaining why your charity should get the grant. Please provide your name, contact information, charity contact, and the reasons why you feel your charity should receive the grant.
  • eBay Foundation will then contact the charity and ask them to submit a proposal.
  • eBay Foundation will review the recommendations and proposals and donate $5,000 in grants to the 10 selected charities. Grant decisions will be made by the end of October, 2008.

The deadline for recommendations is August 15th, 2008. Go to the eBay Foundation Powerful Giving Grants page to submit your recommendation, and to see a list of all the Powerful Giving grants that eBay Foundation has made over the past three years. You can also see which PowerSellers recommended each charity. Submit a recommendation and maybe this year, your name could get featured too!

Sincerely,

Edurne Jorda
