Hi everyone, I'm Larry Friedberg with PayPal Trust & Safety, and I'm back with some exciting news for everyone interested in online safety. PayPal has joined a group of federal, state, and local government agencies and national consumer advocacy organizations to launch the ninth annual National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW).
NCPW, running February 4th through the 10th, highlights consumer education efforts in the fight against fraud across the nation. This year, NCPW's national organizers encourage everyone to "read up and reach out to be an informed consumer."
Join our NCPW Workshop
To celebrate NCPW, PayPal, along with eBay and the Federal Trade Commission, will be presenting a workshop on what you can do to help protect your identity. We'll take your questions on fake (phishing) emails and web sites, and give you practical tips for staying safe online.
Check out my video interview on the eBay Chatter blog to learn even more detail about the events connected with NCPW.
PayPal Security Center Gets a New Look
I'd also like to let you know about the newly-designed PayPal Security Center, which we launched a few weeks ago.
The PayPal Security Center provides consumers and merchants with tips, tools, and technology to stay safe online. The redesign features new and improved guides on identity theft prevention, phishing protection, how to reduce chargebacks and what sellers can do to build buyer trust. You can find a link to the Security Center at the top of every page on the US PayPal site.
To learn more, go to the eBay Chatter Blog, where our resident dispute resolution expert, Colin Rule, provided an in-depth look at the new Security Center a few weeks back.
Sincerely,
Larry Friedberg
