***Important Reminders for Sellers and Buyers***

12 June, 2009 | 10:00

Ira Grossman

Hello everyone, I’m back with some important reminders.

Cheques and money orders no longer allowed in most categories
As we shared with you in April, next week we will be rolling out a new Accepted Payments Policy on eBay.ca. Starting June 15, 2009, you will need to remove cheques and/or money orders as methods of payment on your items, and remove references to these payment methods from your item descriptions. If you don’t, your items could be blocked and/or removed from the site. Find out more here.

Improved Buyer and Seller Protection
In the coming weeks, we will begin offering improved PayPal protection for buyers and sellers.

For Canadian buyers, PayPal Buyer Protection will cover the full purchase price and original shipping costs with no coverage limit for items purchased with PayPal. Buyers will receive greater protection against claims relating to items not received and significantly not as described. See eligibility. All PayPal customers also continue to be 100% protected against unauthorized payments sent from their PayPal accounts.

For Canadian sellers, PayPal will protect all Canadian sellers on eligible transactions with buyers from the 190 markets where PayPal is accepted -- with no annual coverage limit and for no additional cost. Sellers can ship to any address listed on the transaction details page -- confirmed or unconfirmed -- for items sold on eBay. Sellers are now even more protected against unauthorized use and item not received claims, chargebacks and reversals. See eligibility.

Sincerely,

Ira Grossman
