Ira Grossman
Hi everyone...This is Ira Grossman from eBay's Shipping team. I wanted to let you know that Canada Post and FedEx Express have combined forces to launch Priority™ Worldwide, Canada Post’s fastest service to the USA and international destinations. Effective Monday, September 29, 2008, Priority Worldwide replaces Purolator International (which is no longer being offered by Canada Post). Priority Worldwide is being sold in Canada through Canada Post's retail and commercial networks. New rates and improved service standards apply to the Priority Worldwide service.

How Priority™ Worldwide will work on eBay
With the launch of Priority Worldwide and removal of Purolator International on September 29, we are introducing a few changes to the International Shipping section in the eBay.ca selling flow.

Changes for new listings (on or after September 29) include:
  • For Flat Shipping, Priority Worldwide will replace Purolator International as a Canada Post service option in the Services drop down box;
  • For Calculated Shipping, Priority Worldwide will replace Purolator International as a Canada Post service option in the Services drop down box.
Changes for live listings offering Purolator International (listed prior to September 29 and ending on or after September 29) include:
  • Replacing of Purolator International with the new Priority Worldwide service;
  • Displaying of a different rate (the correct one for the new Priority Worldwide service) for listings with Calculated shipping;
  • Changing the service to Priority Worldwide (from Purolator International) for listings with Flat Shipping, but the flat shipping amount specified will not change e.g. if you specified a flat rate of $20 for Purolator International, it will now be displayed as $20 for Priority Worldwide.
Note: While the Priority Worldwide service starts on September 29, changes to the eBay selling flow will not be live on the eBay.ca site until mid-October.

Priority Worldwide offers an on-time money-back guarantee and delivery standards of next business day by noon to most USA destinations and 2 to 3 business days to other destinations around the globe. Other key features of Priority Worldwide include detailed tracking, delivery confirmation, signature and electronic customs clearance.

Three packaging options are available to meet your shipping needs (visit your local Post Office for supplies):
  • No charge envelope (maximum 500g);
  • No charge Pak (maximum 1.5 kg);
  • Use your own packaging (up to 30 kg depending on destination).
Visit your local Post Office beginning September 29 for more information.

Sincerely,

Ira Grossman
