***Community Change: Posting limits for Discussion & Chat boards***

01 November, 2007 | 09:59

Isabel Tremblay
To preserve the health and vibrancy of eBay's online communities, we are introducing limits on the number of posts that members using User IDs with feedback scores that are 9 or lower can make on eBay's Discussion and Chat boards. Just as member feedback reputations are critical in building and maintaining trust in the eBay marketplace, this type of transparency is also an important factor in sustaining positive communities.

In the next few days, members with a feedback score of 9 or lower (less than 10) will be able to post 10 times within the Discussion boards and 10 times within the Chat boards during a 24-hour period (from midnight to midnight ET every day.) The number of posts that a member has left for the 24-hour period will be displayed above the text boxes in each forum. Please note that there will be no limit on the use of the Answer Centre.

If a member has hit their daily limit, they will be directed to the Answer Centre, where they can get help for many of their eBay questions from other eBay members. Once a member has a feedback score of 10 or more, they will be able to make unlimited posts to both our Discussion and Chat boards. Members will always have the ability to find information via eBay's Help and Answer Centre.

We thank the many dedicated members who serve the eBay marketplace by helping others in the eBay forums. Your continued contributions are valued. We hope this change enhances your eBay Community experience.

Sincerely,

Izzy
