In the coming weeks, we’ll be introducing a new, easier selling flow for Passenger Vehicles listings on eBay.ca.
Sellers listing recent (1992 or newer) model vehicles will be able to input their Vehicle Identification number (VIN) in the Sell Your Item flow. The listing will then be pre-populated with detailed vehicle information, reducing the time required to complete the listing.
This same approach has been in place for some time on the US eBay Motors site, and will be familiar to Canadian sellers who have listed on that platform in the past.
As part of this change, we will also be implementing automatic item title formatting for eBay.ca passenger vehicle and motorcycle listings. This is the same approach used on the US Motors site, and combines the user-entered title information with system generated vehicle information (such as make, model and model year). This feature makes it easier for buyers to locate Canadian passenger vehicles and motorcycles both on eBay.ca and on the US Motors site.
In order to accommodate this automatic item title formatting, the subtitle featured option will no longer be available for passenger vehicles and motorcycles on eBay.ca.
For sellers using the “relist” feature for existing passenger vehicles or motorcycles listings that were created prior to the introduction of this feature, note that the subtitle will be automatically removed at the time of relist, and the applicable subtitle feature fee will not be applied.
Pre-filled item information and automatic title formatting have been well-received features on the US Motors site, and we hope they’ll be equally well-received for our motors sellers on eBay.ca.
