***Coming Soon: Enhancements for eBay Stores***

29 August, 2005 | 16:16

In the next few days, we will introduce several new features for eBay Stores sellers. Soon you will be able to:

  • Make changes to your Stores Inventory listings in bulk – You’ll be able to make an edit and apply it to as many of your Stores Inventory listings as you’d like.

  • Easily change the format of your listings – It’ll be easier to change a Store Inventory Format listing to an online auction or Fixed Price format. Likewise, it will also be easier to move your online auctions or Fixed Price format listings back to Store Inventory Format.

  • Use the new “Format” Column in My eBay – Store sellers will now see a Format column in My eBay to help you keep track of the listing format you chose for each item (you can always customize My eBay to hide this column if you prefer).

***Hurricane Katrina - Trading Advice***

29 August, 2005 | 16:16

The Southeast part of the United States, such as Louisiana and Mississippi, has been hit very hard by Hurricane Katrina, and our thoughts go out to everyone affected.

If you are involved in a transaction with a member in these areas, please keep in mind that many people are without power or otherwise unable to do some of the activities associated with trading on eBay. We encourage you to be patient with these members and to keep communicating with them if any concerns arise.

Sincerely,

Rachel Makool
Director, Community Development

***Coming Soon: Updates to Several eBay Emails***

29 August, 2005 | 15:15

In the next few days, we will be updating several of our site emails, such as End of Auction notices and Bid Confirmations. These emails will soon have a more consistent design intended to make it easier for you to quickly find the most important information.

In addition, these emails will now include a standard user greeting consisting of your first and last name and User ID. This should better help you determine whether an email is actually from eBay. Learn more about the user greeting.

Please note: the “From” and “Subject” fields in some of these emails are also changing slightly. If you have rules set up within your own email client to filter emails based on either the From or Subject fields, please see our discussion thread on the Auction Listings board that includes details about which emails will be affected to help you update your rules.

***Coming Soon: Business & Industrial to Extend Item Specifics to Welders Category***

11 August, 2005 | 12:19

In the coming days we will be introducing the Item Specifics feature in the Welders category within Business & Industrial > Manufacturing & Metalworking > Welding Equipment & Supplies.

For sellers, Item Specifics help make it easier to present a clean, well-organized description that clearly articulates important details that buyers want to see. Using Item Specifics is free and optional. For buyers, Item Specifics improves your ability to find the item you're looking for. Buyers will be able to search for items using Item Specifics within a few weeks.

If you list items through an eBay seller tool (e.g. Sell Your Item form, Turbo Lister, Selling Manager) or the eBay API, Item Specifics will be available in the next few days. If you utilize a 3rd party listing service (e.g., Andale, Marketworks, etc.), please contact them to verify that they will offer the Item Specifics functionality in the above categories.
