***Updated: Changes to advertising placements on eBay.com.au***

11 May 2012 | 03:21PM EST

In keeping with eBay's commitment to provide the best possible experience for buyers on eBay.com.au, from the end of June 2012 eBay will be removing all advertisements at the top of Search Results pages. This change will serve to increase the number of listings from sellers immediately visible to buyers, and is in line with other recently announced changes to features on eBay.com.au.

From May 2012 there will also be merchandising placements added to the bottom of View Item pages to increase the chances that buyers find what they're looking for when visiting eBay.com.au.

In January 2012 eBay began to show advertisements on a certain number of View Item pages in line with eBay standards in North America and Europe. From 30 May you will begin to see advertisements on all View Item pages regardless of the seller.

These changes are intended to enhance the shopping experience for buyers and ensure that eBay remains Australia's leading online shopping destination.

Kind regards,

The eBay team
