***Daylight Saving – time change this weekend***

30 September 2009 | 05:12PM EST

On Sunday 4 October 2009 at 2:00am AEST daylight saving will officially start in New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. At this time the clocks will be put forward by one hour and time will subsequently become AEDST.

It is important to note that Western Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory do not observe daylight saving.

Sellers
The length of time you listed an item for will remain the same. One hour will effectively be added to the end time of your current listings. For example, a five day listing starting at 10am AEST on Thursday 1 October 2009 will end at 11am AEDST on Tuesday 6 October 2009.

Buyers
The 'End time' displayed within a listing will always show the time remaining on an item accurately (i.e. 4 days 23 hours).

***Store packages: Selling Manager Pro and Listing Designer***

18 September 2009 | 06:02PM EST

eBay.com.au recently introduced a number of changes to fees associated with Stores/Store packages. These changes included making Listing Designer free for all Store package subscribers when listing an item in Buy It Now (BIN) format, and including Selling Manager Pro within the Store package.

Thanks to community feedback, a few issues with the roll out of these changes were identified and quickly brought to our attention.

Basic Store Packages and Selling Manager Pro
If you subscribe to a Store package, Selling Manager Pro is free. However, it is not automatically included with Basic Store package subscriptions. If you have a Basic Store package subscription you will need to separately subscribe to Selling Manager Pro, which can be done in 4 easy steps:

  1. Go to My eBay
  2. Select the Account tab
  3. Choose Subscriptions
  4. Click on the Subscribe link for Selling Manager Pro

Listing Designer and Selling Manager Pro
We are also aware of an issue where some Store package subscribers are being invoiced $0.10 for Listing Designer. This issue only exists for Store package subscribers who do not have a subscription to Selling Manager Pro. (For example, those who have subscribed to a Basic Store package and have not yet separately subscribed to Selling Manager Pro, and those who have chosen to unsubscribe from Selling Manager Pro).

We are working to correct this as quickly as possible and will ensure that all Store subscribers who have been incorrectly charged the $0.10 Listing Designer fee on Buy It Now listings since 10 September 2009 are credited for any of those incorrect amounts.

Best Match Tool
Finally, the Best Match tool, aimed at helping sellers understand how their listings are performing, was experiencing a few technical difficulties and these have now been resolved.

***Changes to stores, store fees and search on eBay.com.au***

10 September 2009 | 10:28AM EST

As previously announced, a number of changes on eBay.com.au come into effect today.

These changes include the introduction of:

  • Best Match as the default sort order replacing Time Ending Soonest
  • New Store packages and changes to store fees
  • Increased visibility for store listings

If you’re shopping on eBay you may notice an increase in the number of items and a change in how search results are displayed. The aim of the changes is to make finding what you’re looking for even easier.

If you’re selling on eBay you too will notice an increase in items and a change in how search results are displayed. If you don’t currently have a store your fees won’t change at all, but you might want to consider if a store package is right for you. If you do have a store, it’s important you understand the changes to stores and fees that come into effect today. Visit our FAQs on stores and fees for more information.

For further details of all the changes, visit 'The big news' page or sit back and watch our Online Webcasts. The Best Match tool is also available now to help sellers understand how well their listings are performing.

***Reporting Issues with Stores Traffic***

04 September 2009 | 10:00AM EST

We are continuing to work on restoring accurate reporting for Stores traffic and expect to have it resolved in the next few weeks.

As noted previously, the problem is in the tracking and reporting system only and actual traffic continues to function properly.

Thank you for your patience and we apologise for any inconvenience.

***Category structure improvements***

02 September 2009 | 01:46PM EST

During the week commencing 20 September, eBay will be making some improvements to the category structure on eBay.com.au to be more aligned with eBay.com and eBay.com.uk. These changes will help buyers, no matter where they are in the world, effectively find Aussie items available to be posted worldwide.

Most of the improvements will not require sellers to take any action, but it is recommended that you check your listings to ensure they are still being listed in the appropriate categories.

As well as updating these categories, eBay.com.au will also be introducing a new category for franchises. You can read the accompanying franchise policy here.
