***Support for eBay Teachers in Australia***

24 March 2009 | 06:29PM EST

As announced late last year the Education Specialist program (operated by Power University) is no longer supported in Australia. As promised however, we have been working on a new program and today we are pleased to announce the introduction of the Certified eBay Educators (CeE) program which will launch in April.

If you are an existing eBay Education Specialist, or you wish to start teaching, the program which will now be free will operate in the following way:

  • Register your interest to become a teacher by sending an email with your name and whether you are currently an Education Specialist to ebay_educator@stokesmischewski.com.au (Stokes Mischewski is an eBay research partner and will facilitate the program).

  • In order to become a CeE, you’ll need to meet certain eligibility criteria including the successful completion of an online exam. Once you have passed the exam and satisfied the eligibility requirements (e.g. have at least 50 feedback) you’ll be granted access to the new CeE logo, a certificate of registration and student certificates.
A list of approved texts will also be provided and you’ll be granted access to an exclusive Approved Courses category within eBay Services where you can advertise your upcoming classes.

  • To ensure all CeEs maintain a minimum acceptable knowledge of eBay, you’ll be required to complete the exam in January each year.
If you do not pass the exam on your first attempt, you will have the opportunity to re-sit the exam once more within a twelve month period however a second fail will exclude you from the CeE program for twelve months.

The exam, logos, certificates, contracts and other relevant materials will be available from mid April but there’s nothing stopping you from registering your interest now!

We’d like to thank all our local teachers for your continued commitment to teaching others how to sell and buy on eBay.com.au.

Happy teaching
The eBay Team
