Australians have been shocked and saddened by the horrific bushfires in Victoria. Here at eBay, we extend our deepest sympathies to those who have lost family and friends. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to everybody impacted.
With the tragic loss of life, so many people left without homes, and the disruption to postage services, we realise there will be an impact on trading for some of our members. We ask that you show patience and consideration during this time.
Our team has been working behind the scenes to put in place plans to assist our members impacted by these devastating fires.
- We’ve established a dedicated support team who are working to identify members located in the affected areas and will be proactively reaching out to as many of these members as possible to offer support and assistance during this difficult time.
- Both PayPal and eBay have placed links to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal on the homepage of each site enabling members to easily make donations.
- eBay and PayPal are also contributing $100,000 to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal through the Red Cross while also matching all Australian employee donations to the appeal.
The support and kind words the eBay community have offered to those affected on our discussion boards is amazing. It’s great to see such community spirit.
