eBay Australia has made changes to increase the relevance of your search results. Until recently search results relied on a precise match of keywords in the item title. Now, clever new algorithms mean the system can automatically link certain keywords within categories.
For example, a search for AFL in the Sports category will show everything listed within that category related to AFL, instead of only the 30% of listings which include the precise keyword "AFL" in the title.
As part of the changes, similar rules for plurals, misspelt words and synonyms have also been updated, so if you search for "tees" for example the results will show you all "tee shirts", "t-shirts", "tee-shirts", "t shirts", "tee", "t-shirt" etc.
