***Changes Regarding Bank Deposit Express ***

28 April 2006 | 04:04PM EST

As we announced in February, we have now changed the name of "Bank Deposit Express" to better reflect the actual functionality to "Bank Deposit (seller's bank details will be displayed on checkout)". Ability to use the functionality formerly called "Bank Deposit Express" will not be reduced in any way. Winning bidders of items listed with the "Bank Deposit Express" option checked will still be provided with the seller's bank details on checkout.

For more information on the reasons for this change, please refer to our original announcement.

Regards,
The eBay Team

***Invitation to eBay Australia Workshop: eBay Policies – Enforcement & Consequences***

28 April 2006 | 03:20PM EST

We are pleased to invite you to attend our next online workshop titled: eBay Policies – Enforcement & Consequences

eBay.com.au has a number of policies designed to keep the eBay marketplace healthy and to maintain a safe place to buy and sell. Recently we announced some changes to the way we educate members on these policies and what action is taken if the policies are violated. To read the announcement go here: New Consequences and Other Policy Management Progress

Please join Sarah, Alastair and other eBay staff members as they provide information to help you better understand eBay policies. The workshop will aim to answer your questions on policies as well as help you to understand how eBay enforces policies and what the consequences are for sellers.

This workshop will be held on Thursday 4th May at 12:30pm AEST on the Workshops Board.

Workshops are events presented by eBay staff, special guests and expert eBay members on a wide range of eBay-related subjects. Workshops combine informative material with interactive discussion. They are a great way to learn, interact with eBay staff and chat with the experts on a wide variety of interesting subjects. More eBay Australia Workshops will be held over the coming months. If you have ideas on future Workshop topics, let us know.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Regards,
The eBay Team

***eBay Motors Australia introduces Vehicle Inspections ***

18 April 2006 | 01:57PM EST

eBay Motors Australia is pleased to introduce Vehicle Inspections, which will help make buying a car even easier and safer.

Through agreements with the NRMA, RACV and RACQ (the state motoring associations in NSW, VIC, and QLD respectively), eBay members will now be able to purchase inspection services to find out more about the mechanical condition of any car they are considering buying. Some examples of what may be covered in a Vehicle Inspection include:

  • Engine condition, fluid leaks and levels
  • Tyres, wheels, and brakes condition
  • Suspension and steering components
Vehicle Inspections can currently be accessed by clicking on various graphics throughout the eBay Motors site. We are also working on better integrating this new feature with eBay Motors listings as well as working with other state motoring associations.

If you have found the car you want but it is too far for you to inspect it yourself, Vehicle Inspections may be the answer!

The eBay Team

***Introducing More Flexibility For Revising and Resending Invoices***

12 April 2006 | 04:05PM EST

Currently, sellers cannot revise or resend an invoice once their buyer has completed Checkout and selected a payment method other than PayPal. To make the invoicing process more convenient, in the next few days a change will be made so sellers can revise or resend in these situations.

This should be especially helpful when your buyer completes Checkout for one item, and then decides they want to make more purchases from you. You'll soon be able to revise your original invoice to include the new purchases. Your buyer will then be able to go through Checkout again to pay for everything at once.

The eBay Team

***April Category Changes***

12 April 2006 | 10:33AM EST

Every month changes are made to the category structure on eBay.com.au to make it easier for members browsing eBay to find what they are looking for. These changes are based on feedback from the eBay community and from experts in the affected fields, so a big thanks to those members who wrote in!

This month there are some major changes in:

  • Clothing & Accessories
  • Crafts
  • Electronics
  • Home & Lifestyle
  • Jewellery, Gems, Watches
There are also some minor changes to other categories not mentioned here.

These changes are currently scheduled to go live early in the week beginning April 17th, 2006. We strongly encourage members to pay careful attention to which categories have changed and to update Turbo Lister. Existing listings may be moved as categories are split, moved, or renamed.

We are always keen to receive suggestions on category structure. To submit a category suggestion, please click here.

***New eBay Counters to Replace Andale Counters***

07 April 2006 | 09:28AM EST

In the next few weeks, eBay will begin offering our own counter free of charge that sellers can add to their listings. This new optional eBay counter will replace Andale’s counter and will track the number of times a listing is viewed. Counters can be made visible to everyone, or sellers can use our new "Hidden Counter" option, which displays only to the seller.

You will be able to add the eBay counter to your new listings through any selling tool. Once the eBay counters are available, any listing already running with an Andale counter will keep the Andale version – you will not need to change it until you relist the item.

The eBay Team
