***Enhancements to Buyer Requirements Tool for Sellers***

14 February 2006 | 06:16PM EST

eBay provides sellers with tools to give them more control over their listings and help ensure successful sales. One such tool is Buyer Requirements which currently allows sellers to restrict bidding activity on their items (read the Buyer Requirements help page for more information).

This can be done by setting preferences in the ‘Buyer requirements’ area under Seller Preferences (within Preferences) section of My eBay.

Buyer requirements enable sellers to block buyers:

  • From a country they have not indicated they will post to
  • With a net negative feedback score
  • With two Unpaid Item strikes in the last 30 days; and now
  • Buyers who haven’t gone through a phone-based authentication process.
Sellers can choose whether to apply any combination of these blocks to their listings, which will take effect on any items listed after the block is turned on. Buyers who have been blocked by the seller will see a message showing the reason why their bid has been blocked.

In the next few weeks, sellers will also be able to see a list of buyers they have recently blocked from bidding on their listings and make changes. Stay tuned for more information.

Regards,
The eBay Team
