Today eBay.com.au will launch a new feature to filter Feedback comments by rating type (positive, neutral and negative).
Feedback is a vital component of the eBay experience and Community members have long asked for a way to sort Feedback to better understand their trading partner.
The Community has debated the addition of a Feedback sorting feature and many members have said that the ability to filter by different feedback types will help them make better trading decisions. Others feel that seeing feedback within context is important and that viewing only negative comments could unfairly obscure all of the positive comments received during the same time.
In order to evaluate the effectiveness of a system which allowed for such feedback filtering a series of trials were conducted in several eBay markets.
We are pleased to announce that following the success of those trials we will introduce the functionality on eBay.com.au.
The filter Feedback feature is a drop-down menu labeled “period” on the Member Profile page. After choosing a time period, a special rating filter will appear. Also within the filtered view, a new icon will appear next to each feedback comment allowing members to quickly view the feedback left by both the buyer and seller for that transaction (if any).
In order for the Feedback Forum to be effective, all eBay members should remember to check feedback prior to entering into a transaction. It is also very important that every member let their voice be heard by leaving a comment, positive, neutral or negative, and reply or follow-up, for members with whom they have transacted eBay business.
Regards,
The eBay Team
